Christine E. Lois
Designer.
Born, and raised in Brooklyn, New York… but forever travelling!
I’ve been very fortunate to have the privilege of experiencing multiple facets of design throughout my education, experience and career. After receiving my B.Arch from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY, I pursued an architectural career having worked on multiple projects of varying scales from transportation, commercial, and residential sectors. Having architectural training and experience has allowed me to have the free mind to think outside the box, but the rigidity of real life in order to make design concepts feasible. An architectural education is a very unique skill set which teaches you how to think differently, how to solve problems, and how to be a fore thinker. These design design skills and has helped me develop interest in all aspects of design; including art, history, photography, and travel. These interests have been an asset as I began my career working in TV and Film.
My set designing career began with Art Directing the American multi-cam Sitcom, KEVIN CAN WAIT (CBS), with Production Designer Wendell Johnson. Since then, I’ve worked on various single-cam episodic dramas such as NEW AMSTERDAM (NBC), MODERN LOVE (AMAZON), and FBI; MOST WANTED in NYC which has included a mix of stage and location work. More recently I’ve been working on Features, which have included HUSTLERS, RED NOTICE, and THE FLASH, MICKEY 17, & IT ENDS WITH US. Having Dual citizenship between America and Italy has allowed me to work and live bi-continentally, by expanding my work experience to the UK and Europe. Each project I’ve worked on so far has been a truly unique experience.
